Over 16,000 people in Cuyahoga County were notified by letter that they can have their driver’s license reinstated starting today, August 16, 2010 through September 30, 2010 in the Cuyahoga Support Enforcement Agency’s (CSEA) Drivers License Amnesty program. These parents are informed that to qualify for their driver’s license reinstatement, all they have to do is make an immediate payment of one month of their child support obligation and a minimum of $50.00 toward any back child support that is owed.

Normally, the driver’s license reinstatement policy requires delinquent parents to either pay off the entire back child support amount owed, or provide one month’s child support and a verifiable income source (employer, bank account or other income source) that can be attached to provide future payments.
August is Child Support Awareness Month. Drivers License Amnesty is offered in recognition of Child Support Awareness Month.
